Message from Andrew Turner, Director, Residential Life

Andrew Turner photoWinter sports, UCC Theatre and lots of club activities are dominating the full school itinerary as we make our way toward the March break that begins following the school day on Thursday, March 8.

UCC’s hockey, basketball, swimming and squash teams are all involved in important games and meets as they work toward season-ending playoffs, and the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations meet in the case of swimming.

All UCC students will be treated to the UCC-The Bishop Strachan School (BSS) production of King Lear this weekend. Tonight there are 15 boarders attending the 7:30 performance in the David Chiu Theatre. Our Model United Nations boarders will attend an event at BSS on Saturday.

The boarding program is also providing wonderful opportunities this weekend. Several boarders will attend The Year of the Dog: A Chinese New Year Celebration at Roy Thomson Hall on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra will highlight music from Chinese and Western origins. Costumes, dance and much more will provide UCC boarders with wonderful insights into the way Chinese citizens in Toronto celebrate their new year.
