Message from Andrew Turner, Director, Residential Life
It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since 36 new boarders arrived on campus to begin their UCC journey. Boys are settled in to their new courses, meeting new teachers and becoming accustomed to academic expectations. It’s heartening to see boys engaged in try-outs for teams; Association Day this Saturday will be a great opportunity to represent their new school in front of parents and alumni that will be on campus to watch.
All boys should be proud of the time and effort they’ve devoted to community service. Many boys have already worked for New Circles Clothing, Habitat for Humanity and the Terry Fox Run. Many other boys have registered for Horizons tutoring training that will allow them the opportunity to work with students in inner-city elementary schools.
We hope to see some parents on the sidelines for football, soccer and volleyball matches this weekend. Remember to connect with your son’s senior house adviser if you’ve any questions about what’s happening in class, on the sports fields or in the boarding houses.
