Message from Andrew Turner, Director of Residential Life
I’ve just stepped inside from working at the long jump pit at the annual House Track and Field meet (more news on that in next edition of Boarding Life). The warm weather and longer daylight hours are moving students toward summer attire; the attached photo of Calvin Bouchard and Jose Gomez at the track meet speaks volumes about the challenge boys face while trying to stay focused during the last month of school.
Weekend activities on the horizon include May Day celebrations this coming Saturday, an outdoor evening movie in the quadrangle separating Seaton’s and Wedd’s, a co-ed charity carwash with Bishop Strachan School and a trip to the Rogers Centre for Blue Jays baseball. The boys in IB1 have their work cut out for them to complete their Extended Essays; IB2 students are in the midst of final exams; and the rest of the boys are into their final unit of study before June exams. I’m sure parents are anticipating having their son home for summer vacation; in the time that remains, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your son’s senior house adviser if you’ve questions or concerns about your son’s final weeks of term.
