Message from 1G
I can’t believe the year is coming to a close! We’ve done so much learning and growing together this year. Your boys have impressed and surprised me everyday. They are the reason I love my job. But, we’ve not slowed down. And the end of the year is equally busy.
Next week we have a day at Norval, our last reading buddies with our 3M friends, the class party and a massive amount of things getting finished in class. We’re still working, but our backpacks won’t have homework in them. Instead, they’ll be filled each day with memories from the school year. On the same note, please return any school items to school (especially the daily readers).
Just a few more notes:
- Grandparent’s Day: Friday, June 2
- Norval: Monday, June 5 (Send swim gear, towel, sunscreen, shoes you don’t mind getting wet and a change of clothes.)
- Last day of school: Monday, June 12; dismissal at 1:40 p.m., casual dress
- We’ll be celebrating all our class’ summer birthdays and the end of the year with a class party on Friday, June 9.
We’re still in full swing as well. Your boys are asking many questions and we’re working hard to answer them. We’re diligently working on our “brain” activities. We’ve explored different parts of the brain and what they’re responsible for, neuroplasticity, brain health, self regulation and the child’s brain. The boys have many questions that we’re adding to our wonder wall everyday.
Thank you for sending in the fantastic baby photos. We have created a “Guess Who” game in the classroom which is in perfect time for Grandparent’s Day. Please pop in and have a look yourself!
In math we’re continuing to look at adding larger numbers, fractions and the 100-chart. We’re working on responding to word problems and multi-step questions.
On behalf of Ms. Franco and myself, we thank you for your help and support throughout the year.
To the boys: Take care of yourselves and enjoy each moment you go through. Have a wonderful, relaxing summer. Take a break; you’ve worked hard and you deserve it!
