Marathon of Hope: The Musical

MOH musical donation form

Marathon of Hope: The Musical is a ground-breaking, school-premiere theatrical event that promises to take audiences on an inspiring and uplifting journey.

It is a folk musical based on the heroic story of Terry Fox. After losing his right leg to bone cancer, Terry started a cross-country run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. After 143 days, he was forced to abandon his quest near Thunder Bay because his illness had spread. Although his run was cut short, his legacy lives on. He inspires Canadians to continue his work, and the annual Terry Fox Run has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for cancer research.

Marathon of Hope: The Musical was developed in collaboration with the Fox family and The Terry Fox Foundation. The musical was workshopped through Sheridan’s Canadian Music Theatre Project in 2013 and 2014, and features music and lyrics by Sheridan alumnus John Connolly and script by Peter Colley.  Our Prep students, with girls from the Bishop Strachan School (BSS), will be presenting the musical on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in Weston Hall.

There are no tickets required, but donations to the Terry Fox Foundation are welcome. There will be a donation box at the door. For people who wish a tax receipt, there will be forms available at the door or as an attachment. Join the cast and crew of over 40 boys from Forms 4-7 as well as girls from (BSS) in an evening of drama and music.
