Macintosh Library reading lists and resources

Dear Upper School families,

To encourage students to read for growth and entertainment this summer, the Macintosh Library is offering a range of reading lists and resources to inspire.

Please see this LibGuide for guidance on good reads from our library, the English department and the science department. Due to the present circumstances, print copies of the books are not available from our school library, but it may be possible to source them online from your public library or you may opt to purchase.

We have recently made a collection of Science Ebooks available through our catalogue. Please search “EBSCO ebooks” to see a list of what is available (for remote access passwords see the Library Online Resources page on Powerschool).

In addition to the lists, there are tools that can be used such as Novelist (included in the LibGuide) and the Teen Book Finder app (YALSA).

Two recommended sources of free e-books this summer are Internet Archive (Open Library) and Project Gutenberg. Your family might also consider an Audible.com subscription, which at the moment, is free for one month.

Happy reading!

The Macintosh Library Staff
