Faculty chaperones for March international trips
Faculty members have been chosen to chaperone next year’s March break trips to Ecuador and Kenya.
Please know that if you’re interested in the trips that space is still available and we’ll communicate more about the trips in the fall through our weekly publication to parents in Heads Up.
World Challenge – Ecuador trip
Kathryn Edmondson is head of music at the Prep School, where she’s taught for 28 years. She has a sense of adventure and loves to travel. In addition to studying and teaching in the United Kingdom, she’s had opportunities to travel there on school music trips. She’s also been to: China and Tanzania with students volunteering for Me To We; Sri Lanka to train primary school teachers on a project sponsored by the International Baccalaureate Organization; and South Africa for the International Boys’ School Coalition conference. Edmondson looks forward to working with students during this South American adventure.
Me To We – Kenya trip
Fatima Remtulla is an Upper School math teacher who appreciates the value of community service in Canada and around the world. She’s travelled and offered support by building homes for Habitat for Humanity in Mississippi, helped street children and orphans in Tanzania, and built schools in India. Remtulla looks forward to this new adventure and knows just how much the boys will get from sharing their strength, both physical and of character, with the world outside of the walls of UCC.
Blair Yungblut is a preparatory teaching assistant with the Middle Division and has previously worked in UCC’s boarding program as a residential don. He has experience in leading multiple school and boarding-related trips and looks forward to Kenya.
These trips are available to boys who will be in the Senior Division (Foundation Year to IB2) starting in September.
