iDiv exam prep through the Wernham West Centre for Learning
The Wernham West Centre for Learning offers support throughout the year for boys to develop their “tool kit” for learning.
In order to support boys through the exam preparation process, our approach is linked to how to best study and prepare for tests and day to day assignments. Therefore, much of the exam preparation helps the boys develop study habits and strategies that will be helpful on a daily basis.
The types of support available include:
- organizing notes, old tests and quizzes prior to exams;
- prioritizing areas where students may need to seek extra help (i.e. a concept in math);
- developing a study plan;
- developing subject-specific study strategies;
- and additional support in other areas, such as how to stay motivated and focused, answer multiple-choice questions, write short-essay answers and manage feelings of anxiousness.
Year 1: Mondays at 7:30 a.m. (all Y1 boys will have an exam prep session with the Centre for Learning in their form advising time)
Year 2: Fridays at 7:30 a.m.
Year 1 and Year 2: Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Any Y1 and Y2 boy may work in the Centre for Learning as he keeps up with current work and begins preparing for exams on Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
We hope you enjoy the additional resources on test and exam prep from the Centre for Learning.
