House track meet triggers great spirit

The annual house track meet is one of the great school traditions that annually brings Upper School students together for friendly competition on the UCC Oval. The event also provides an opportunity for the new IB1 leadership group in each house. IB2 students aren’t available to participate due to their final IB exam schedule; new Heads of Houses and Prefects are responsible for getting athletes out to the preliminary qualifying competitions in the days leading up to the final event.

More than 500 students gathered on a beautiful sunny day to watch junior and senior running, jumping and throwing events on Monday, May 15. The track meet serves to trigger great house spirit and is also one of the final events of the school year used to crown the Prefect Cup Champion for the 2016-17 school year.
