Sean Kelly led 30 UCC boarders on a five-hour fishing expedition on Lake Ontario on Sunday, Sept. 7. New and veteran boarders tried their hand at catching lake trout, rainbow trout and Chinook and Coho salmon. The fish weren’t biting as well as they sometimes do on this expedition but the boys enjoyed a great day on the water. Many are looking forward to the ice fishing expedition on Lake Simcoe scheduled for January.

The Great Lakes include Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario. With their connecting channels they form the largest fresh surface water system on Earth. Covering more than 94,000 square miles and draining more than twice as much land, these freshwater seas hold about one fifth of the world’s fresh surface water supply. Spread evenly across the contiguous 48 states south of the Canadian border, the lakes’ water would be about 9.5 feet deep.
