FY: Camp Kandalore Pathfinder Leadership Program scholarships available

The Pathfinder Program is a one-month leadership opportunity in July and August, available to participants age 16 (born in 2000). Applications are due April 30 (see details below). It combines a great camp stay with participation in a variety of activities, along with a five-day white water canoe trip down the beautiful Madawaska River. The Pathfinders will engage in workshops on such leadership topics such as communication, team work, leadership and healthy, active living.

All Pathfinders will work on attaining the following certifications:

  • Bronze Medallion and/or Bronze Cross
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR C
  • Paddle Canada Basic Flat Water Certification
  • High School Credit:  Physical and Health Education– Healthy Active Living, Grade 11, Open (PPL30)

Some scholarships are available:

  • One Full Pathfinder Leadership Scholarship – Total value: $4,420
  • Additional Awards: several partial scholarships will be made available (half of the tuition fees – $2,210)

Successful award recipients will be 16-year-old Canadians who demonstrate leadership potential and character, camp-related skills and the enthusiasm to be part of the program. Depending on space available, award recipients will choose from among the following sessions:  Session A (July 1 to July 29); Session B (August 1 to August 29)

Applications are due by April 30. Applicants who qualify will be contacted for an interview with one of the directors. More information is available here.
