Forms 3-5: PFLAG presentation to students on Feb. 19
Representatives of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will speak to Forms 3, 4 and 5 on Friday, Feb. 19. This event leads up to UCC’s participation in Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
PFLAG moms tell their LGBTQ children’s personal story focussing on the age of the audience. The moms then talk about our similarities and differences, and encourage kids to take an interest in each other. They talk about how life could have been happier for their gay child if another child had reached out. The moms speak in very positive ways about being different and talk about how much they love their gay kids.
The talk is usually about 40 minutes with some interaction throughout and then the presenters take questions at the end.
Should you have any questions about the presentation, please contact Jill Stewart, co-ordinator of health and life skills.
