Two fabulous productions on Oct. 30

Weston Hall will be alive with the sound of actors tonight. Thursday, Oct. 30. Both performances explore the emotional challenges of individuals (or crayons) in everyday situations in a very age- appropriate way, for both our young and mature audience members.

Form 4, 5, 6 Production: Spell This

Families are like fingerprints – not a single one on Earth is the same. When competing at the highest level spelling bee, the relationship boys have with their families can be challenging to navigate. Emotions run high, quirks are revealed, pressure mounts. What a boy says doesn’t always match what he thinks. The intensity of competition is dealt with differently in each family. Some are positive, others less so. Some are unorthodox. Others are downright funny as they compete in the National Spell This Competition!

This year’s Form  7 fall play is called: The Day the Crayons Quit.

It’s a story about a collection of disgruntled crayons who decide to quit. The boy who owns them, Duncan, is in for a life-changing experience when each crayon takes its turn to talk to him about why they’re leaving the crayon box.

With humour, a little stage combat and dancing, this show tackles gender stereotypes, exclusion and general “inside the box” thinking.

We’d love to have all Prep families come out to see the production. There’s sure to be something in it for everyone. Our UCC boys and the BSS girls will inspire you to reflect on your “true colours” and to question “the way it is.”

The show is at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, Oct. 29 and. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door. Refreshments will be available at intermission.

Don’t miss this amazing theatrical event.
