Financial assistance applications – extended opportunity to apply
As indicated in an earlier message from the Principal, the College will re-open the financial assistance application process to families in May. Please note carefully the following instructions:
Families who are not currently in receipt of financial assistance, but feel that they may now require tuition support for the 2020/2021 academic year, may now apply. Financial assistance applications are processed by Financial Aid for students attending Canadian Schools (FACS). This third-party service provides independent assessment services and makes confidential recommendations directly to the College’s financial assistance review committee. Awards are made to eligible families on the basis of assessed need. You can complete the application online at www.applefinancialservices.ca. The application fee is $120.
Families who have previously applied for financial assistance for 2020/2021 and who wish to have their applications reconsidered will not need to apply again. Instead, there is a one page request for reassessment form that you are asked to complete. A copy of this form can be obtained from Colleen Papulkas in the Finance Office by email at email@example.com. When you have completed the form you can log back into your account with Apple Financial Services and upload the form using the additional documents link. Alternatively it can be faxed to 1-613-395-9100 or emailed directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that the analysis of both new and revision requests for 2020/2021 will not take place until mid to late May or early June. This will provide for a better understanding of the financial impact, the length of the crisis, the timeline for restarting the economy and the extent of government assistance. The College will be in a position to make offers of assistance, where appropriate, in June when the assessed applications are received.
