Fat Biking in the Don River Valley

Dr. Amit Morris gathered eight adventurous bikers to tackle a well kept secret in the Toronto downtown core, on Saturday, Feb. 2.  The Don River Valley flows through the downtown core; on the banks of the river are some of the best biking and hiking trails in the city.

Nestled along the banks of the river, only a 20-minute walk from the UCC campus is the historic Don Valley Brick Works. Since the 19th century and through much of the 20th century the area was producing brick to build many of the houses in North Toronto following the Second World War. Today the buildings serve as a major recreation destination. There is a market operating on weekends and a fantastic bike shop that served as a starting point for an afternoon of biking last Saturday.

Joining Dr. Morris for an afternoon of biking were Zhao Ziang, Bojie Fan, Uche Ochuba, Jeremy Iacobacci, Kene Ochuba, Simon Guo, Michael Goralski and Nicholas De Chazal.
