Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Don’t miss out on the matching gift opportunity

Jay A. Fishman, father of Eric J. Rogic ’15, has kindly agreed to match up to $100,000 to all families who participate in the Class of 2015 Scholarship Fund, established in honour of your son’s graduation and their time at UCCIt will be distributed to a boy demonstrating the greatest need.

Why has he decided to do this, given that his son is a departing border? (He’s an American citizen, they don’t reside in Toronto and Eric will attend the University of Michigan next year.)

His reply is simple.

“I wish to give back to the UCC community that has contributed so remarkably to Eric’s appreciation for academic achievement and to his development into a fine young man — who understands personal responsibility and has solid core values.

“Furthermore, through the boarding program, Eric has developed strong friendships with many great young men from Canada, Spain, Germany, Italy and beyond.

“Equally importantly, I’ve spent time with several students in the past three years who are financial assistance recipients. Each young man is an impressive individual and, I believe, will be a tremendous credit to UCC for years to come.”

Although the match is specifically for the Class of 2015 Scholarship Fund, you have the option to direct your gift to any area of interest to you and your family. Any gift, of any amount, will be gratefully received.

All donations will count towards the leaving class participation and the total dollars raised will be announced at the leaving class ceremony on May 25.

The goal of the parent leaving class gift is 100-per cent participation.

Donating is easy and may be made online here or by calling annual giving manager Joanne Weedmark at 416-488-1125, ext. 2000.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this fund so far. Please contact Joanne Weedmark in the advancement office if you have any questions.
