Donate food for We Scare Hunger

We Scare Hunger takes place all across Canada. We collect non-perishable food items to donate to the Daily Bread Food Bank. Last year we collected 2,300 pounds of food. This year, our goal is to donate 3,500 pounds of food. More than five years ago, the Prep took on the challenge of defeating hunger once and for all. We urge you to participate. The leading class in Primary and Middle in the Prep will receive a pizza party. If the school reaches its goal of 3,500 pounds the entire school will have a casual dress day.

Non-perishable items may be brought to school between Monday, Oct. 25 and Friday, Oct. 30.

The Food Bank’s most-needed items are as follows:

  • canned vegetables
  • pasta/pasta sauce
  • canned fruit
  • 100% fruit juice
  • rice
  • high fibre/low sugar cereal
  • oatmeal
  • flour
  • granola bars
  • canned meat in water
  • canned fish (tuna in water)
  • dried/canned beans
  • peanut butter
  • baby food (vegetables and fruit)/ baby cereal/ baby formula

The community service leaders thank you in advance for your support.
