Discovery session on UCC master plan tonight in Laidlaw Hall
UCC’s newly launched strategic directions were a collaborative effort, and I thank you once again for your vital role in shaping our preferred future.
As a next step, I invite you to participate in a special discovery session for Old Boys and parents from 6:30 to 8 p.m. this evening in Laidlaw Hall.
The development of a new facilities master plan is an important initiative within our new strategic directions to ensure we provide the most innovative learning spaces for our boys. To that end, we’ve appointed Fielding Nair International (FNI) as our partner in that process. FNI will lead this session. The Minnesota-based firm is an award-winning leader in education planning and architectural design, with extensive experience working with Canadian and international independent schools.
We strongly encourage you to attend for an opportunity to learn more about FNI, get involved early in the planning process and share your ideas and aspirations for a forward-thinking learning environment.
This master plan will consider both our Deer Park and Norval campuses. It will have a special focus on our learning spaces and will consider our buildings, landscape, flow of people and traffic, and general infrastructure. The resultant framework will guide future development and help us address our needs and challenges as we transition to flexible learning and teaching environments.
FNI spent time on campus in January getting to know our campuses, faculty and staff, and observing how our learning spaces work. This evening’s discovery session will comprise part of their second week-long visit to the College.
Please visit ucc.on.ca/towards2029 for updates on our master planning process and strategic directions.
I look forward to seeing many of you tonight.
