Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Course change request process

If your son has decided to request a course change it is important that he follows the directions below:

A course change form (link below) must be filled in and signed by the student and the parent. It must then be emailed (or dropped off) to your son’s university counsellor (Years 9 and 10) or to Mr. Smith, MYP Co-ordinator (Year 8), who will review it and contact your son if necessary. It will then be submitted to the Registrar’s Office for processing.

Course changes will be accepted on an ongoing basis and processed if possible, until Friday May 3, at which point no further changes will be processed to allow September scheduling to be completed.

Parents and students may continue to submit completed course changes after this date, and they will be kept in order of receipt, but will not be processed until the September schedule is finalized.

Once the school year begins, the process and timeline for course change requests will be as follows:

  • Year 9 and Year 10 course changes will not be accepted during the first cycle of eight class days. Course changes will then be accepted and processed if possible, until the end of cycle two (next eight days).
  • Year 11 course changes will be accepted and processed if possible, as of the second day of school, up to the Thanksgiving Day long weekend.

With regard to course changes, please be aware that every effort will be made to honour requests; however, certain changes may not be possible because of timetabling constraints.
