Support the Chinese Culture Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 22
Ready to enjoy a crazy Chinese New Year with music, dance and great food? Come and join us on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the new location – the Upper School Student Centre. Tickets are $5 each.
This is a charity fundraiser organized by the Canada Independent School Chinese Association (CISCA). All proceeds of the carnival will be donated to the ChengPu Project. ChengPu is a town in China. Five students from this area are rewarded with a one-year scholarship based on their demonstration of character and academic excellence. These students come from very low-income families which survive on an income of about $91 a month, whereas the tuition for high school is approximately $800 a year. There’s no other way for those students to continue their education without our support.
UCC is hosting this Carnival in partnership with Branksome Hall, Havergal College, Appleby College, St.Andrew’s College and Bishop Strachan School to raise funds to support these students in their pursuit of education.
Tickets may be purchased through Andrew Cao at firstname.lastname@example.org or in the Student Centre at lunch this week.
