In addition to reading the university view books, browsing websites, and talking to more experienced people, visiting campuses can be one of the most helpful ways to decide which university will be right for you. For this reason, once university campuses are again open to visitors, UCC encourages all members of the Class of 2021 to spend some time over the next year having a first-hand look at schools of interest to them. Once universities resume on-campus visits, it will be easy to make arrangements by checking university websites (usually under headings such as “Prospective or Future Students” or “Visitors”): these will have relevant e-mail addresses and telephone numbers.
In the meantime, universities have created many resources online, with virtual tours and admission webinars designed to provide students and their parents with as much information as possible under the current circumstances. In addition to exploring the resources on the admission, faculty, and department websites of individual universities, there are general resources that can facilitate a virtual visit.

In the winter term, all Year 11 students met with their university counsellor in house groupings. At that time, you were given a Campus Visit Reflection, an assignment for the Career Studies course that is a mandatory credit in your Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Students are expected to visit at least one campus (a virtual visit is fine this year!) before next September in order to complete the assignment. A copy of the assignment can be found on your UCO Managebac page under Career Studies; it should be uploaded to the drop box before 8:30 am September 17.
