Boarder weekend update

On Sat, Jan. 25, CFL Associate, Ms. Emma Kanga, and Residential Assistant, Ms. Amina DeVries accompanied UCC boarders to a Lasertag extravaganza. The group played two games and out of forty players Uche Ochuba finished in first place. Not sure Lasertag Champion was on Uche’s resume when he put his name forward to be UCC Head Steward but wouldn’t be surprised if he adds this when seeking a leadership position at university.

Many thanks to Ms. Kanga and Ms. DeVries for leading the boys on the Saturday night excursion. This sort of event truly bonds staff and students in the UCC boarding program. We strive to build balance into the boys’ lives; there are lots of obligations for seniors like Uche, and also for younger new and veteran boarders like Jad Oklany, Sirvan Saee, Matthew Wong, Sten Tian, Henry Yan and Alan Chu.

The evening ended with a big pizza dinner – time well spent on a Saturday night!

This weekend, boarders are headed to the Toronto Rock lacrosse game on Friday and to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on Saturday to see a wildlife photography and Bloodsuckers Legends to Leeches exhibit. On Sunday, there is a dinner gathering in the Seaton’s and Wedd’s Common rooms to watch San Francisco and Kansas City battle for the Super Bowl.

Thanks in advance to Mr. Mark Pryor and Mr. Dave Brown for leading the boys to the Rock lacrosse game on Friday and to Dr. Amit Morris and Mr. Brown for leading the boys to the ROM on Saturday.
