Donate to the annual Mother’s Day drive
UCC’s 14th annual Mother’s Day project has begun! Upon our return to campus next week, we are looking for donations of toiletries for women and their children currently living in women’s shelters. It’s been a challenging time for many during the pandemic, and we are grateful to the UCC community who continue to generously donate to those in need.
This year we are supporting Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter, which provides 32 beds for women and children and support to over 600 women and children through their outreach program, as well as Women’s Habitat Women’s Shelter, which has 25 beds and serves 500 clients in their outreach program. Your donations of toiletries will be beautifully wrapped for children at these shelters and given to their moms on Mother’s Day, to help celebrate this special day together.
This year, students will be collecting full-sized and travel/hotel-sized:
- shampoos and conditioners
- body lotion
- cosmetics and nail polish
- hair-care products
- toothbrushes and toothpaste
- sanitary products
- small gift sets (holiday re-gifts are welcome!)
Anything that you think a mom would enjoy pampering themselves with is welcome. Mothers who are offered these services do not always have access to these everyday luxuries and they enjoy receiving them every year!
Starting on Monday, Jan. 17, donations can be left at the reception desk of the Upper School or in the main office of the Prep School. Please contact Linda Carvalho if you have any questions about drop-off or Samantha Dugas if you have questions about donations.
On behalf of the students of UCC, we thank you for your support.
