Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

A message from Tanya Sweeney

Dear Prep families,

Please enjoy the recordings of the Middle and Primary assemblies from this past week. Bell Let’s Talk Day and the topic of self-care are featured widely in both.

A reminder that tomorrow, Friday, January 29, is a Professional Activity day for faculty as announced in December. No synchronous classes will take place but students can work on any of their assignments or take part in this week’s UCC+ challenge to build a Rube Goldberg Machine! You can watch the introductory video by Mr. Mossman here. This week’s challenge is also open to the Upper School students so we are excited to see what you build.

Thank you for your ongoing engagement with Wellbeing Wednesday! This week’s most popular activities were Lego and Come draw with me for our youngest learners, game time for Year 4 and 5 and Kahoot and origami for Year 6 and 7. And of course, Wednesday afternoon is a great time to get off the screen if that contributes to your wellbeing and get outside. We enjoy seeing pictures of your outdoor pursuits and are happy to put them into our weekly assembly movies and on social media (with your permission).

Middle Years report cards were released this week; please reach out to your adviser or subject teacher if you have questions.

Primary families, please sign up for three-way conferences which take place on February 19. There will be no classes for students that day as students attend the conference with the parent and teacher.

Please stay safe and well, and continue to send us photos and videos of your child engaging in our various remote programming options. We’re eager to feature student skill and talent in weekly assemblies, and to that end, we hope to hear from you.
