Year 10 career morning on Nov. 15

As part of the compulsory career studies course, the university counselling office and the Association office will once again host a career morning on Wednesday, Nov. 15 for all Year 10 students. This event is designed to expose the boys to potential careers in a variety of fields and to build understanding of the different paths one might take to reach each profession.

The guest presenters will be Old Boys and members of the UCC community. Each student will attend two sessions and then complete an assignment for the career studies course. Any students who are absent on the day will be expected to complete an alternative assignment in which they’ll arrange interviews with two people (non-family members) from two different fields.

Schedule for the day:
Year 10 students will pick up their personalized schedules for the event outside the iDiv Lounge between 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Sessions will run between 8:15 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. Period 1 classes for Year 10 boys will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Session Choices:
Space will be limited in each session to ensure appropriate interaction between the students and speakers. Boys will be asked to rank their session preferences; every effort will be made to honour at least one top session choice.
Students will be provided with registration instructions following the Nov. 6 assembly. The registration link will be posted in the UCO section of Haiku under Career Studies.  Students who don’t submit their session preferences in a timely fashion will be scheduled into sessions where space is available. We’re looking forward to an informative and engaging morning. If you’ve any questions, please contact your son’s university counsellor.
