PYP Exhibition update

IMG_6201Year 5 is the last year of the Primary Years Program (PYP) and, as such,  students engage in the PYP Exhibition.

This is a collaborative, student-directed, research-based, action-oriented culminating activity of the PYP. Students lead their own inquiry in the spring term. We’ll celebrate the completion of the PYP Exhibition with our community, including parents, on Friday, May 11. More information will be forthcoming in the new year.

The boys in Year 5 have been talking about the PYP Exhibition since the beginning of the school year. They’ve been thinking about what issues they care about and talking about local and global current events. During our last exhibition periods, the boys began considering the PYP essential element of action. They created personal action statements and worked collaboratively to define action. They’re beginning to talk about ways that kids can make a difference through taking action.

Boys will take action through their PYP Exhibition projects in the spring. Please enjoy conversations at home about issues your son or family care about, and how people can make a difference.

We’ll host a parent session about the exhibition in the new year. In the meantime, feel free to direct any questions about the PYP Exhibition to your form teacher or Dianne Jojic at djojic@ucc.on.ca

Enjoy your rich pre-exhibition conversations at home.
