Norval weekend

Residential assistant Jon Heffernan and Sean Kelly led Year 8 to 10 boarders on a Norval overnight trip on Nov. 4 and 5.

The boys slept in Stephen House and did all their own cooking while enjoying adventure activities on the 400-acre Norval Outdoor School property located about a 40-minute drive northwest of the downtown Toronto campus. UCC boarders are lucky to have the best of both worlds. Many chose UCC boarding because of the downtown urban campus setting, but periodically the boys are offered an opportunity to spend a weekend by the river.

The Credit River flows through the middle of the Norval property, and the fall colours were spectacular in early November. There’s nothing like marshmallows over the fire, cooperative games in Stephen House, and a walk through kilometres of trails to help relieve the stress of a busy work week and allow students to connect with each other in such a tranquil site and situation.

Thanks so much to Kelly and Heffernan for facilitating such a wonderful weekend for our boarders.
