Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Message from Year 3

With snow soon to be on the ground and winter knocking at the door we ask that you kindly send your boys to school with full winter clothes appropriate for playing outside for half an hour. They should be wearing their boots home and putting on their dress shoes at school in the morning. The upcoming weeks get busy with the boys wrapping up work and looking forward to the holidays.

The Festival of Carols and Christmas Music is on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Laidlaw Hall.

Our holiday concert at the Prep is on Wednesday, December 13 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Weston Hall. Please try and attend as our boys have put a lot of effort into the rehearsal and it’s always a great way to kick off the holiday season.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, 3C travels to Norval and on Thursday, Dec. 7 it’s 3F’s turn. Please make sure the boys are sent with warm clothes and a change of clothes for the bus ride home in case they get wet.

The students are finishing up their forces unit and will move into the animal adaptations unit soon. They’ll develop their research skills and practise their reading for information as they research an animal and its specific adaptations. In math the boys are starting their geometry unit and will investigate different polygons, area and perimeter.

This is a long term and it’s worth noting the boys feel it even more than us. Please take a moment to check in with your boys and help them through any hurdles you might be hearing about. The winter break will be valuable for all we’ll all work to to successfully navigate the next four weeks.
