Tuesday, June 13– Locker Clean Out
Friday, June 16– Exam Review Day

With exams drawing to a close next week, another school year passes us by. At this time we’d like to acknowledge teachers who won’t be returning to the College to start the 2017-2018 academic year. On maternity leave are: Zulay Rodriguez from our Modern Languages department, Lulu Wang and Courtney Turner from our Science department, Gillian Levene from our English department and Ashley Scott from our Music department.

Mark Hoel from our Computer Science and Geography departments will be taking a one-year leave, as will Peter Merrick, our organist and member of our Music department. Jane Audet from our University Counseling department will also be on leave next year.

Leaving UCC to pursue other interests, or opportunities at other schools are: Molly Sotham from ouderek poonr library, who was on maternity leave this year, Anna Gryszkiewicz who was covering a maternity leave in our Health Centre, Sean Kelly who taught at our Norval campus, Travis Turner from our Science and Math departments, Reem Aweida-Parsons who was on leave last year from our History department, Fiona Marshall, also from our History department and Jody McLean from our Centre for Learning. Residential assistants Jeremy King, Adam Harnack and Oliver Maurovich have completed their terms of service to our boarding community.

Richard Tong, who taught Math at both the Prep and the Upper Schools, is retiring at the end of this academic year. Retiring as well is Chantal Kenny, our Executive Director of Admissions, who concludes an exceptional career spanning roles in the Prep School and in Admissions. We wish both Chantal and Richard health and happiness for their well-earned retirements.

We’re grateful for the many and varied contributions made by our teachers and staff, and wish them all well in their pursuits next year and beyond.  We extend our appreciation to Jody Howe, our outgoing president of our Parents Organization, who, along with her team of devoted parent volunteers, have made a very positive difference to our school community.

Finally, thanks as well to you, our parents, who provide us with the opportunity to work with your sons here at the school. It’s a privilege to be able to play a small part in their respective journeys of self-discovery and to support their development as learners and young men.

Wishing you a restful, enjoyable summer.

Thanks for reading,

Scott and Derek
