Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Message from Derek Poon, Head, Intermediate Division

derekUpcoming Intermediate Division dates:

Monday, Dec. 11: First dress; period one starts at 8:30 a.m.; assembly at 10:05 a.m.
Friday, Dec. 15: Year 9 parent coffee with the principal, 8 to 9 a.m., principal’s boardroom; Intermediate Division assembly at 10:05 a.m.

Exams for Year 12 boys begin on Friday, Dec. 8 and continue until Wednesday, Dec. 20. Exams for Year 10 and Year 11 boys begin on Thursday, Dec. 14 and end on Dec. 20. There are no exams for Intermediate Division boys, but we’ve asked them to be quiet in hallways and classrooms in and around exam rooms as a show of respect.

Practices and games for school teams, along with co-curricular activities for iDiv boys, will operate at a slowed pace, if at all, as we close out the term. This honours the commitments of faculty and senior students as they enter their exam preparation and writing phase to conclude the term. Please check with your sons about changes to these routines.

Locker clean-out (both book and house lockers) is an important and mandatory task for all students at the end of each term. Boys are required to remove all possessions from their lockers and take home all belongings. Lockers not cleaned out will be emptied by housekeeping staff and the College won’t be responsible for its contents. Having empty lockers allows housekeeping to clean and sanitize all lockers. It’s a health and safety requirement. Please remind your sons to do as asked.

College holidays, as noted in the Upper School calendar, are generous. Please be sure your travel plans for all school breaks honour scheduled class time and exams when applicable. Classes end on Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m. and resume on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Thanks for reading.
