Battle of the Blues Football
The Battle of the Blues is now established as our version of “Friday Night Lights.” Our own UCC Blues clash with the St. Michael’s College School Kerry Blues to see who triumphs. UCC’s varsity team is looking to avenge the Association Day loss, and noisy and supportive fans could make the difference. So come on out in blue and white, maybe get your face painted, and yell “Go Blues!” as often as you can. The players and coaches will most certainly appreciate it. The junior varsity game is at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game is at 7 p.m.

Two first dress days next week
Next Thursday and Friday, first dress (also known as number one dress) is required because they’re admissions open house days. We’ll have more than 100 visitors to the College who are interested in attending UCC, and we want the boys to look their best. Please do all you can to remind them.

Warm weather dress continues to be an option for boys until Wednesday, Nov. 8. However, as temperatures begin to drop, boys are reminded that hoodies of any sort aren’t acceptable within our stated dress code. Boys may wear regular dress at any time and, for additional warmth, may only wear approved three-quarter zipped fleece or a school blazer. First dress will be required on the first day of every week immediately after the November long weekend and on special days that will be communicated. Please refer to the Upper School Family Handbook, which is accessible on our website, for details.

Student-led conferences (also known as parent-teacher interviews) are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 3. Please refer to the detailed entry in the Intermediate Division section on how to book times online.

National Take Your Child To Work Day for Year 9 boys is on Wednesday, Nov. 1. If you’re planning to have your son take part in this day, please be sure to email Nancy Pyle so that it can be recorded in our system. Details are available in the Intermediate Division section of Heads Up.
