Exhibition update

IMG_2970As you know, Form 5 is the last year of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and, as such, Year 5 students engage in the PYP Exhibition. This is a collaborative, student-directed, research-based, action-oriented culminating activity of the PYP. Students lead their own inquiry in the spring term. We celebrate the completion of the PYP Exhibition with our community, including parents, on May 11, 2018. More information will be forthcoming in the new year.

You should know that the boys in Year 5 have been talking about the PYP Exhibition since the beginning of the school year. They’ve been thinking about what issues they care about and talking about local and global current events.

During our last Exhibition periods, the boys spent some time visiting age-appropriate news sites, discussed articles that were interesting versus articles that were issue-based, and made personal connections and connections to the “Who we are” trans-disciplinary theme.

We expect the boys to be discussing things they’re interested in or issues they hear or read about with you at home. We hope you’ll enjoy rich conversations with you son.

Below are the children’s news site the boys have visited.

A parent information session about the PYP Exhibition will be held in the new year. In the meantime, should you have questions about the PYP Exhibition, please speak to your form teacher or Dianne Jojic at djojic@ucc.on.ca
