Heads Up

Welcome to Heads Up, your one-stop source for news about your son’s upcoming activities and events.

Association Day is coming

Ice The Husky One (1)UCC will celebrate its 38th Association Day on Saturday, Sept. 23, so bring your families and reunite and reconnect with Old Boys, parents, teachers and friends.

Prep boys are asked to wear their house colours. The school will host a new parent breakfast starting at 7:45 a.m. in the Prep School’s Weston Hall.

Everyone is also welcome to drop by the Prep Café so you don’t have to bother stopping at your local coffee shop in the morning. It will be located on the north side of the Eaton Building and opens for business at 8 a.m. Bienvenue à tout le monde.

Families are welcome to take a guided tour of the Prep labs and learning garden from 9 to 11 a.m. Drop by the Wookey Market to organize your tour. Come for a relaxing stroll or guided tour and enjoy the sights and smells of seasonal herbs, greens and vegetables. Enjoy the harvest from the learning garden at the fresh herbs and vegetables sale on the avenue from 9 to 11 a.m., or until the produce is all sold.

Boys in Senior Kindergarten to Form 4 will meet in their classrooms at 8:30 a.m. SK to Form 2 boys will be led directly to their assigned fields to participate in Soccerfest at 8:55 a.m. These boys won’t participate in the parade. Boys in Forms 3 and 4 will leave their classroom at 8:35 a.m. and meet the Form 5, 6 and 7 boys on the avenue in front of the arena at 8:45 a.m. Opening ceremonies will commence at 8:55 a.m. and Soccerfest will officially begin at 9:10 a.m. Here’s a map of field locations. The Soccerfest game locations are:

  • SK to Form 2 at Prep West
  • Forms 3 and 4 at Prep East
  • Forms 5, 6 and 7 at Lords fields

Soccerfest will be finished by 10:30 a.m. Boys in SK to Form 4 will then need to follow their form teacher back to their classrooms, where they’ll be dismissed promptly to enjoy the rest of A-Day with their families. Boys in Forms 5 to 7 will be dismissed directly from Soccerfest to enjoy the rest of the day with their families. Families are invited to cheer on the UCC Blues at any of the sporting events.
